About Us

Environmentalism Through Art is a project aiming to join the two worlds of art and environmentalism by promoting the use of art as a tool to spread awareness and awaken an appreciation for our earth. With rising sea levels, extreme and unsafe temperatures, growing deforestation, species eradications, and ever-growing pollution, it is clear that our planet is suffering. And we are not doing enough to stop it. The UN report in March of 2023 echoed the words of climate scientists around the world: the Point of No Return is rapidly nearing us. According to the Yale Environment Review, although the expected year for this to happen is 2035, it could take place as early as 2026.

We believe that the primary way to fight this global apathy towards the environment is through art. Art can come in any form, as long as it is authentic to its style and creatively crafted. We strive to produce art that showcases the magnificence of out earth's beauty and power as well as the pain of its destruction at the hands of humans.

Reethi Srikant

Reethi is a current high school junior who loves all things science and art, two things she believes to be intricately intertwined. Growing up in an education system that emphasized creativity, she learned about the Ancient Roman emperors by drawing each of their portraits and learned the principal operations of math through writing stories about the queen Equalis and her pages: Addition and Subtraction. To her, art is not only a tool for learning but also a generator for connection. Now, with a recent study by the Guardian showing that almost 50 percent of people feel no need to change their lifestyles for the betterment of our earth, she feels that art is the key to reignite a love and respect for the natural world.
